bit about us...

Ther Katie and Tim, the husband-and-wife team behind Anthracite Spirits.

​

We started this spirited little venture in 2022 with a simple goal: to root ourselves more deeply in the Crested Butte community and build something meaningful (and delicious!) from the ground up. What started as a shared passion for cocktails and a burgeoning curiosity about distilling has since grown into a full-blown operation — one that keeps us learning, experimenting, and connecting with people every day.

Originally a Boulder native, Katie's degree in graphic design has allowed her to orchestrate all of Anthracite's design and marketing, while her near decade working in sales has helped with the self-distribution of their products around Colorado.

 

Tim hails from San Diego. He traded the beach for the Colorado mountains over 15 years ago. His many years of hard training for triathlons has prepared him well for the marathon of small business-ownership! 

Together, we do it all — from R&D to distilling and bottling, sales and deliveries, concocting the tasting room menu and hosting our wonderful guests at the Anthracite Lounge!

We endeavored into this space to be more than just a distillery and a tasting room. Anthracite Spirits enables us to share what we know (and continue learning), to swap stories, try something new, and celebrate the magic of a good drink in good company. We’re big believers in approachability — whether it’s your first cocktail or your fiftieth — and love helping people feel a little more confident behind the bar or at the glass.
